Derek was born and raised in rural southwest Georgia. Growing up in a trucking family, going back two generations before him, Derek has been in and around transportation all of his life.
His seventeen years of professional experience ranges from managing refrigerated and store operations with Winn Dixie Stores, Inc., to owning and operating his own landscaping and lawn care business. Most recently, he has graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BBA in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation.
Derek, his wife Mary, and their three children enjoy living, fishing, and hiking in Pine Mountain, GA.
