John was born and raised in Florida. He has been around transportation from age 14, back when it was “trucking.” After high school, John began a local cartage company which funded his college education and in which he wore all the hats from driver to mechanic to CEO.
Diversifying into long haul he continued operating trucks after college. In 1990 John moved into the brokerage sector and started Maverick in 1991.
John has lived in Pine Mountain, GA for the last 25 years with his wife Karlia and their four children.
